James showed up as a stray, possibly 6 to 8 months ago, and has been cared for (along with 3 other cats) and much loved by his owner who has sadly passed away. He is an FIV +ve boy used to spending a lot of time outdoors and may take some time to settle in. He is initially shy until he feels safe, then is eager for attention. His experience with children and dogs is unknown. He is currently sharing a space with his previous housemate Patrick who is also FIV +ve and the two of them may be able to be rehomed together.
His FIV positive status means that his immune system does not work as it should, and he is more vulnerable to other illnesses. It also means that James must be an indoor only cat, ideally in a home with lots of space and no other FIV -ve cats. Because of his FIV status, James is eligible for our permanent foster programme. This means that we will cover all medical costs relating to his illness for the rest of his life. Learn more about our foster programme here.
